Move-to-Earn App STEPN Partners Wiith Adidas to Unveil Phygital Sneakers

Popular Solana-based move-to-earn project STEPN has partnered with the fashion giant Adidas to launch a limited-edition NFT collection dubbed the Genesis Sneakers. The latest collection will be the first among several co-branded activities to be unveiled in the one-year partnership between both platforms.

The Genesis Sneakers will feature 1,000 digital collectibles rolled out in two phases. The announcement revealed that the NFTs will be raffled to future holders. Each collectible will be priced at 10,000 GMT tokens.

The first phase, conducted on April 17th, will see 200 NFTs reserved for “the most loyal users.” These include holders of Adidas’ ALTS by adidas NFTs and qualified members of the Find Satoshi Lab (FSL) community. FSL is the blockchain platform behind STEPN. The platform is also behind the NFT marketplace MOOAR and the blockchain game Gas Hero. Select users from these platforms will be eligible for the first phase of the raffle entry.

The second phase will be opened to the public from April 18th to 21st. 790 NFTs will be raffled to participants. Winners will receive their NFT rewards through the MOOAR marketplace after being announced every 24 hours. Participants who do not receive an NFT after the entry will be fully refunded. The duo platforms revealed that one digital wallet can claim only one NFT to ensure a fair distribution. 

STEPN’s CEO Shiti Manghani explained how the collection holds phygital capabilities. She said:

“This collaboration between STEPN and adidas underscores how powerful it is when you can move-and-earn in both the virtual and real world simultaneously. That such a physical and digital - or 'phygital' - partnership between the most widely used lifestyle app and a global brand like adidas are now a reality indicates the direction lifestyle rewards are going.”

The CEO’s statement shows that the collection will likely come as an NFT with a physical twin claimable by each holder. Meanwhile, the collection promises exclusive perks for holders.

The latest collection will likely be easily soaked up within minutes, thanks to STEPN’s user base of around five million and Adidas’ popularity in many countries across the globe. On the other hand, more fashion aficionados will be introduced to STEPN’s vision of bringing more people into the blockchain space.
