Solana to Integrate ChatGPT to Enhance Web3 Experience

Solana Labs, the development company behind the Solana blockchain, has embraced the power of artificial intelligence (AI) by creating an open-source reference implementation for a ChatGPT plugin. It will enable users to interact with the Solana network one step ahead and make the navigation across the blockchain light and breezy.

In a recent Twitter post, Solana Labs said that once the plugins are available, users can perform certain tasks through the ChatGPT user interface, including checking their wallet balances, transferring tokens, and purchasing NFTs. A screenshot shared by the development company shows that the tool can search NFTs owned by a particular Solana wallet address, which provides an attached metadata link to the token.

Solana Labs said developers who want to test the ChatGPT plugin and launch their own version could use the project's open-source code. A beta version of the tool is already available to developers on Solana Labs' GitHub account. However, it is unclear when the feature will be officially launched.

Noah Gundotra, Software Engineer at Solana Labs, stated that with the latest integration, the company aims to "promote safe and human interpretable standards around [large language models] and sending transactions."

Meanwhile, the latest development comes amid the Solana Foundation's recent commitment to AI projects. On April 25th, the non-profit organization announced a $1 million fund for small-scale grants exploring the Solana blockchain and AI intersection.

The company stated that new and existing projects are eligible for grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000. According to the Solana Foundation, the grants aim to encourage the Solana ecosystem to explore new use cases of blockchain and AI technologies.

The integration of AI tools into blockchain technology represents an exciting frontier in the development of both. With the implementation of ChatGPT plugin capabilities, it will be interesting to see how this integration can improve the Solana blockchain functionalities such as data management, scalability, security, and beyond.
