Digital toy company Cryptoys is taking its Web3 expertise deeper into the cartoon verse. In partnership with the media giant Disney, it will release a collection of digital toys of some of Disney’s notable cartoon characters.
The soon-to-be-released collection will feature three major characters from the Mickey Mouse universe, namely Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Pluto. Cryptoys’ official announcement reveals that the Mickey-themed series will feature 15 limited-edition digital toys and accessories “in a one-of-a-kind unboxing experience.”
Like other digital collectibles within the Cryptoys’ ecosystem, the newest series will come in five rarity tiers – Common, Rare, Legendary, Grail, and Ultra Grail. Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto will each be entitled to all five rarity levels. Those collectors who complete their sets will be rewarded with a “super-special Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey Cryptoy.”
The digital collectibles will be dropped in September, with each piece trading for $39.99.
Since its creation in 1928, Mickey Mouse has deeply positioned itself as one of Disney’s icons and mascots. Gracing the screens of children and adults alike, Mickey is one of the most beloved Disney characters. Highlighting that the new initiative is a trailblazing experience for Mickey fans, Cryptoys’ CEO and co-founder Will Weinraub said this will be “the first time people will experience Mickey Mouse in this way.”
Aside from Mickey Mouse, Cryptoys has brought other popular films from Disney to the non-fungible realm. In May, the toy giant launched a Star Wars-focused collection in commemoration of May the Fourth (May 4th), a special day for all Star Wars fans.
Through its newest initiative, Cryptoys shows its relentless effort to deepen its collaboration with Disney and bring in new audiences into the digital realm.
