My country, Japan, belongs to the temperate zone and has four distinct seasons throughout the year.
Since ancient times, we Japanese have valued the culture of enjoying the subtle changes of the four seasons. From lowlands to alpine zones, there are many kinds of wildflowers that bloom vigorously and vigorously throughout the four seasons. In this collection, I used the Georgian alphabet in the Japanese wildflowers works to express the names of the Japanese wildflowers.
It is not known in detail when and how the Georgian alphabet was created. When I saw the Georgian alphabet, I was fascinated by the uniqueness of the letters and the beauty of the unique arcs and straight lines weaving together, so I wondered if I could use these letters to express my art work. I would be happy if people around the world could feel the beauty of Japanese nature through my work that combines Japanese wildflowers and Georgian alphabet.
The theme this time is Nirinsou. Nirinsou is a representative wildflower of Japan that heralds the arrival of spring in the mountains. It grows wild all over Japan, forms colonies on forest floors and along rivers in mountainous areas, and often blooms abundantly. Blooms in April in the lowlands and May in the highlands, The young leaves are a familiar wildflower for Japanese people who are also used for wild plants. In a certain grassy area, Nirinsou leaves spread like a carpet, Bathed in sunlight, the flowering Nirinsou sways in the gentle breeze. Many Nirinsou flowers seem to be singing in chorus celebrating the arrival of spring.
I became obsessed with photographing them swaying in the wind. Nirinsou's English name is windflower, and the windflower name suits them very well.
