Rodrigo Rezende, also known as "RWR2," is a renowned Brazilian artist based in Toronto, Canada. Rodrigo explores and delves into contemporary culture, behavior, and the human experience through his art, spanning a variety of mediums, including images, videos, and 3D sculptures.
Rodrigo has loved creating characters since he was a kid. When he grew up, he left his parents and community at a young age to pursue his passion for art. Later Rodrigo studied Graphic Design in Rio de Janeiro, sharpening his craft as a digital artist.
With more than 15 years of experience in the creative industry now, RWR2 has made design and animation projects for notable clients, including Microsoft, Facebook, Google, Netflix, FX, Apple, Starz, Shopify, Ikea, and others. He currently works as a full-time Art Director at Tendril – a digital innovation studio.
Rezende loves to create odd, beautiful, and bizarre characters that defy stereotypes. The artist who has always thought his characters deserve a place to shine said he found the perfect spot for them as a series of digital collectibles. He started exploring the NFT world in 2021, making a new chapter in his artistic journey. Driven with the idea in mind to challenge the narrow and unrealistic standards of beauty as well as encourage viewers to think critically about their own use of technology, Rodrigo Rezende taps into socially important questions through his art.
