Prominent NFT creator Yuga Labs has unveiled the Legends of the Mara (LOTM), a collection-based 2D strategy game, as a follow-up to the Otherside second trip.
Yuga stated that throughout the LOTM, Voyagers would be able to learn more about Kodas and their relationship with Otherside, encounter some new characters in the form of Mara, and dive deeper into the story of Otherside. Being the primary keepers of Otherside, Kodas are also the main drivers of the new initiative.
"In Legends of the Mara, [Kodas] are by far the most adept when it comes to farming, enchanting, and hunting. We'll learn more about Kodas, including their origins and their primal relationship with Otherside…," Yuga said.
The NFT creator said LOTM would be driven by the celestial Odiac that will enable Voyagers, Otherdeed holders, to evolve their Mara into a more skilled Kodamara, which would help them fight to defend the Otherside against potential threats.
The journey will begin for Voyagers after claiming their Vessel NFTs for free for each Otherdeed they own. Yuga also noted that after the claim, users would need to decouple Kodas from Otherseeds.
Talking about Vessels that are forces for defending the Otherside, they can develop into Mara and perform different functions such as hunting, farming, or enchanting. Further, they can also evolve into powerful Kodamara that are also great helpers to fight for the Otherside.
Details such as the number of players expected to participate in this upcoming journey are currently unavailable. However, the claim window for Vessels will open in early April, while the game will launch sometime in May.
The launch of LOTM demonstrates Yuga Labs' commitment to exploring the endless possibilities of NFTs and their potential to revolutionize the gaming industry.
