Licensed French fantasy sports gaming startup Sorare keeps scaling its base of big partners on the blockchain. The latest in the line of organizations to partner with the web3 platform is the English Premier League. This will be a multi-year collaboration, allowing Sorare to execute and trade licensed League’s NFT cards, featuring the top soccer players from all 20 clubs in the English Premier League.
As part of this collaboration, Sorare users will be able to buy, sell and use these league-specific player cards in the soccer-themed games. Additionally, upon playing, the gamers will be offered to collect and trade their favorite Premier League players. As for the gameplay, the platform will induce new beneficial features, including league-specific competitions, draft-based gameplay, and a salary mode.
After the launch, Sorare users will be able to buy, sell and use these league-specific player cards in the soccer-themed games. Additionally, upon playing, the gamers will be 0offered to collect and trade their favorite Premier League players.
According to the report by CNBC, Soare has over three million users so far, and their number is likely to multiply with the assignment of a long-term partnership with the Premier League. As part of the deal, visitors to the platform will be offered to compete in five-a-side fantasy soccer games based on the real-time performance of the top players.
In addition to the ability to compete with league-specific NFT cards, Sorare is launching another update, which is a financial fair play feature that prevents users from creating super-powerful stellar teams.
“The way that supporters follow their favorite teams and players is evolving and the Premier League is always looking for ways to engage with fans,” Richard Masters, Chief Executive of the Premier League, said, adding, “Sorare’s digital cards and innovative online game represent a new way for them to feel closer to the Premier League whether they are watching in the stadium or from around the world. We believe that Sorare is the ideal partner for the Premier League, and we look forward to working closely together.”
Even against the background of the long-lasting downtrend of the past year, Sorare still managed not only to stay afloat but also to scale its presence in the NFT space. Currently, the gaming platform represents the third-largest NFT collection worldwide, with about $1 million in transactions per day.
Thus, the deal with the soccer Premier League adds to the list of Sorare's existing big collaborations, including association football, NBA basketball, and MLB baseball.
Let's wait and see what awe-inspiring soccer-themed games based on the card collectibles Sorare and Premier League are going to release in a while.
