An Anonymous Collector Donated a Rare CryptoPunk NFT to Help Ukraine

Because of the full-fledged terror caused by the Russian invasion in Ukraine, the whole world and the global crypto community alike is providing donations to help Ukraine go through these terrific times.

Thus, on March 2nd, Ukraine officially joined the list of CryptoPunks NFT holders. The collector who preferred to stay anonymous had transferred CryptoPunk #5364 to one of the country's official digital wallets.

It's noteworthy that crypto holders and businesses worldwide have already transferred over $33 million in crypto since February 24th when the Russian Federation started the war against Ukraine on the country's terrains. While most donations were made in ETH, BTC, and TRON, CryptoPunk #5364 NFT stands out from others.

According to the transaction history, we could see the asset was purchased for 16.19 ETH on February 21, 2021. However, considering the collection’s current floor price of 68.9 ETH, the NFT's evaluation has grown at least by 4 times. Moreover, the above-stated 'Punk' boasts a couple of rare traits like Bandana or Classic Shades (only 5% of the collection), and a cigarette, which is an attribute of only 10% of all CryptoPunks.

Of course, the CryptoPunks NFT isn’t the only surprising donation Ukraine has recently received. Thus, the NFT marketplace Binance has recently withdrawn a hefty sum to provide aid in Ukraine. Besides, the Ukrainian-based game developer Holy Water has brought together over 200 most prominent Ukrainian artists for a fundraising NFT collection, to help Ukraine combat the Russian aggression.
