In recent days, the eyes of the world have been turned towards the escalated conflict in Ukraine and the needs of millions of Ukrainians. The global crypto community doesn't stay aside from the conflict, with many companies and individuals donating funds in crypto to support the civilians. Thus, one of the major supporters with over $10 million of donations is crypto hub Binance.
The cryptocurrency exchange performs charitable initiatives through its Binance Charity Foundation. According to the report on the company's website, the "donation will be split between major intergovernmental organizations and nonprofit organizations already on the ground, including UNICEF, UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, iSans and People in Need, to help support displaced children and families in Ukraine and its neighboring countries."
Binance has already launched a fundraising crowdfunding site, called Ukraine Emergency Relief Fund. The platform allows everyone willing to help Ukrainian people by making donations in crypto to help provide emergency relief to refugees and children and to support logistics on the ground such as food, fuel, and first aid. At the moment a donation of 16,042 BNB, with the equivalent value of $6 million, has been already sent to the governmental and NGO wallets.
In addition to crypto funds, Binance is partnering with a number of local refugee groups to help Ukrainian refugees by creating a safe corridor of escape into friendly neighboring states.
The crypto hub has long-term relations with UNICEF via its Luxembourg Committee, with dozens of charitable initiatives under the belt.
Since its inception in 2018, Binance Charity has donated $10 million to support projects helping in the wake of global disasters and only plans to be gaining momentum providing charities.
Binance is not the only crypto giant that helps Ukrainian people to go through hard times. Thus, the Come Back Alive fund, founded in 2014 by Vitaliy Deynega, an IT specialist from Kyiv, also allows all those not indifferent to donate crypto, USD, and even high-profile NFTs to support the Ukrainian army, and local NGOs.
Do not stand aside, join the initiatives to help the Ukrainians to go through this terrible time!
