The year is 2105 and humanity is entering a new era. In 2100, political changes were expected due to the global crisis and resulting refugee increase, which led to broken borders and discussions for a new political system. The impact of global warming, including rising sea levels, has claimed entire countries. A new approach to world politics was necessary, but attempts for a unified policy, open borders, and cultural/financial freedom to reduce wealth disparities failed due to opposition from powerful corporations and politicians. The failed attempt resulted in large protests, violent clashes, and eventually, civil war-like conditions in major cities, with many arrested and silenced.
Five years later, a new threat emerged with reports of mysterious creatures appearing in various countries. The government tried to suppress information, but whispers spread, particularly in the East where political pressure was building. The President of India was the first to declare a national emergency and form a global alliance to defend against the monsters. The assembly gave the rebels, who were previously critical of the system, the chance to fight and regain their freedom by training as mercenaries, dubbed "Shikari" (hunters) by the Indian government. The origin and number of these monsters were unknown, but one thing was clear, they were deliberately placed on Earth.
