In honor of the Pride Month, L’Oréal-owned makeup brand NYX, the web3 Lab People of Crypto (POC), and The Sandbox metaverse space announced a collaborative NFT endeavor. Thus, NYX’s voxel NFTs will promote diversity and inclusion in the Valley of Belonging, the first-ever equity, and inclusivity hub in the metaverse.
The new hub will launch on June 24th, aiming to build the so-called ‘cultureverse’ while investing in and amplifying creators and communities with diverse stories, teams, and projects that represent black and brown women, people of color, as well as LGBTQIA+ creators, developers, and brands.
Thus, to enter the inclusive space and celebrate Pride Month on the VR dance floor, you will need at least one of 8,430 NYX NFT avatars that boast a variety of traits. Just imagine, 36 skin colors, every ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender identification, celebrating the human differences ranging from different abilities like prosthetic limbs to cultural identifiers like the hijab are represented throughout the collection.
These vowelized PFPs will not only spread the word on human diversity on the web3 but will also fund the Los Angeles LGBT Center. We don't know yet how much the NYX NFT avatars will cost, but according to the company's statement, 100% of proceeds from the NFT sale, amounting to $50,000, will be donated to the center.
The holders of the NYX’s NFT avatars can use them in The Sandbox’s upcoming Belonging Week on June 24th. According to The Sandbox, this "Pride-themed event will create a safe space in web3 where players of diverse backgrounds can connect and celebrate their unique identities."
Anyone interested in the NYX Sandbox NFTs can join the company’s Welcome List on June 9th. NYX says June 16th is the official drop date for its NFT avatars.
