David McLeod

David McLeod is an Australian artist and 3D designer currently based in New York City. This self-taught multidisciplinary artist is known for the creation of distinctive still and moving images using 3D design tools such as Cinema4D and Houdini.

He is inspired by people’s emotional responses to different kinds of textural or motion qualities. Interestingly, David also gets inspiration from observing mathematical rules and geometry that can be found in nature. His work is geared towards the creation of experimental and textural CGI illustrations, 3D-based typography, and lettering patterns.

David’s designs are rich in the combination of vibrant colors, whimsical motion, and organic forms, all powered by his signature use of 3D abstraction. His art techniques are heavily stirred by nature and animals. For instance, he was greatly motivated by the hypnotic movement of a mass of fish. The collective action of the fish serves as a visual metaphor for learning mass-mentality online social behavior.

David McLeod’s aesthetics have been embraced by popular firms and celebs across the world. His work was featured in a music video by iconic American musician Beck. He has also worked with major brands like Toyota, Nike, Adobe, Apple, Dropbox, Diesel, Mastercard, Greenpeace, Wired, Omega, Wacom, and Calvin Klein.

Stepping into the non-fungible realm, McLeod wasted no time in bringing his whimsical, 3D-themed artworks into the space. ‘Growth Cycles,’ an ongoing exploration of imagined biological forms, is among his most renowned NFT collections.
