Chris from NFT Calendar: Squid games literally took over the world! I’m a fan. I’m interested to know, what did you take from the series? What you added, subtracted or modified. In short, tell us what to expect.

Jayson: The Squid Game Avatar NFT is a series of NFTs that are designed based on all the characters from the Squid Game show with tailor-made themes for each of them!

From Seong Gi Hun to Abdul Ali, we are bringing Squid Game characters to the Torum Metaverse, providing everyone an opportunity to become one of them.

Chris from NFT Calendar: We understand that Squid Game Avatar NFT is already the second PFP Avatar that will be integrated into the SocialFi Metaverse. What can those that purchased Genesis expect? What changes, if any, did you introduce in this one?

Jayson: Torum Genesis Avatar is an exclusive series that is available to the earliest supporters of the Torum. You may think of it as the Bored Ape Yacht Club, and the Squid Game Avatar as the Mutant Ape Yacht Club.

Both are parts of the Torum Metaverse that represent a person’s virtual identity in the Metaverse.

For the Squid Game series, we will be designing a tailor-made game that provides the Squid Game Avatar holders with special perks and benefits.

Another unique thing about the Squid Game Avatars is the newly introduced “Special” rarity. Avatar NFT pieces with “Special” rarity come with only one unit of supply, making whoever owns them to be the one and only holder. 

You know, identity is highly subjective… Different people have different expectations. Some might want a strong-looking Avatar, while others might enjoy owning multiple Avatar sets with different themes.

So, the Squid Game expansion enables the community to bring those personalities from Squid Game into the Metaverse..

Chris from NFT Calendar: Do you still have the same team? Who are the brains behind Squid Game Avatar NFT?

Jayson: Yes, we do. The team consists of over 35 members, including developers, designers, and marketers, working full time behind the scene. The idea of Avatar NFT was first thought of by Ah Go and Alwin (both founders of Torum), where we wanted to empower everyone to build and own a customized version of ourselves in the Metaverse.

So, the idea is to continuously come up and integrate new NFT series that are loved and wanted by the community with mass adoption as its final destination.

After we launched the Genesis series, we saw how Squid Game is able to connect people from different parts of the world together. This stands in line with our mission of connecting worldwide cryptocurrency users, which led to the birth of Torum Squid Game Avatar NFT.

Chris from NFT Calendar: We know you plan to introduce ETH and HECO cross-chain support in the future. Tell us a bit more about the decision to start with Binance Smart Chain?

Jayson: It’s actually straightforward as user experience has always been the utmost priority during product development. We want to avoid the unbearable gas fee that is against the “mass adoption” goal that we are aiming for.

So, starting with Binance Smart Chain is perfect.

Chris from NFT Calendar: So the first drop has come and gone? How much can we purchase each NFT now? And how do we go about minting it?

Jayson: The Genesis and Squid Game Avatar drops were sold out, and there is not going to be any additional minting from here. The Squid Game sale was quite impressive as it was sold out in less than 24 hours upon launch.

The entire minting process is pretty simple. You buy a Blind Box that contains one of the items that are released in the particular series, and then open it in the end. You wouldn’t know what’s in the box until you open it!

Chris from NFT Calendar: Elaborate please on the “1 to 456” NFTs that can be pieced together? What are the perks the owner of one of these – if they are still available?

Jayson: The 001 - 456 numbers are references to each contestant from the Squid Game series. They are integrated into the “Top” category of our Avatar NFT, where each top is bestowed with a “Special” rarity that has only one unit of supply.

Owning one of these is like owning the right to become the Squid Game contestant himself in the Metaverse. In the future, we are going to create a game that is based on the Squid Game theme, so holding these NFTs will give them the right to use the specific “Top” in the game, and also some exclusive benefits during the gameplay.

Chris from NFT Calendar: You have so many interesting features so I will try to get them all in here so buyers can understand. In a few words, the Avatar NFT Showroom... What’s that about?

Jayson: The Avatar NFT Showroom is an exclusive feature that was born from the combination of our social media and Avatar NFT.

In our Avatar Landing page, there is an option for the community to connect to a BEP-20 Metamask wallet first. After that, they are able to build and customize their own Avatar NFTs with combinations to explore according to the Avatar NFT pieces that are owned.

When the Avatars are created, the holders can then move on to connect their Torum accounts and then set the Avatars to display in their profiles. Or, they can share it to their other social accounts on Facebook and Twitter as a PFP image.

Chris from NFT Calendar: Awesome. Lastly, where do you see this community in the next 2 years?

Jayson: As a SocialFi ecosystem with over 200,000 users, I feel that the Avatar NFT is only the beginning of a new chapter for Torum. 

We have a series of plans set for Avatar NFT to expand into GameFi and Metaverse for 2022, along with an iOS and Android mobile app coming up.
