Mark Cuban, an American businessman and owner of the Dallas Mavericks basketball team, has embraced another facet of the vast non-fungible realm. He converted his book into an NFT, blurring the boundaries between the worlds of non-fungibility and literature.
In partnership with Book.io, a multi-chain Web3 marketplace hosting the reading and trading of decentralized eBooks and audiobooks, Mark Cuban debuted 10,000 copies of his book titled “How to Win at the Sport of Business: If I Can Do It, You Can Do It” on the NFT ecosystem. The collection features 385 unique book cover designs and 257 exclusive 1:1 cover designs.
The book talks about the American billionaire’s journey from humble beginnings to financial success. Explaining the content of the book, Book.io wrote:
“[Mark Cuban] tells his own rags-to-riches story of how he went from selling powdered milk and sleeping on friends’ couches to owning his own company and becoming a multi-billion dollar success story. His unconventional yet highly effective ideas on how to build a successful business offer entrepreneurs at any stage of their careers a huge edge over their competitors.”
The public sale of the NFT book began on June 6th on the Polygon network. Each piece is priced at 5 MATIC. Currently, 3,855 book copies have been sold, representing 39% of the total supply.
Notably, this is not Cuban’s first foray into the non-fungible realm. As far back as 2021, Cuban got involved with NBA Top Shot, an NFT marketplace developed by Dapper Labs where users trade basketball “moments” as digital collectibles.
By taking his billionaire success to the non-fungible space, Mark Cuban portrays his unswerving support for developing the realm. It also shows his commitment to helping others gain insight into how to grow financially.
