American crypto exchange company Kraken is deepening its partnership with the auto racing team Williams Racing. This time, they are teaming up to launch a thrilling contest allowing NFT holders to showcase their NFTs during the US Grand Prix racing competition on October 22nd. Six selected NFTs, voted by the fans, will be showcased on the rear wing of their Williams FW45 racing cars during the sports event.
It’s worth noting that only those NFTs listed on the Kraken NFT marketplace are eligible for selection. Everyone who wants to try his luck and get his NFT featured on legendary cars needs to fill out and submit an entry form on the Williams Racing website between August 1st and 18th. Upon submission, 20 digital collectibles will be shortlisted and presented to a community vote that will take place between August 28th and 31st. Four out of six NFTs will be the top picks selected by community and two other winner spots will be handpicked by Williams Racing drivers Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant. NFTs selected by Alex and Logan will be announced on September 7th in preparation for the racing competition to be viewed by millions.
Highlighting the significance of NFTs in its crypto ecosystem, Kraken’s Head of Brand Partnerships, Lou Frangella, said:
“NFTs are an essential part of the cryptocurrency ecosystem, and I think they represent many different things – they are ownership for some people, and there are very engaged communities in a lot of cases. Whenever we have the opportunity to lift up the crypto community, we want to use our platform to be able to do that.”
Since March 2023, Kraken and Williams Racing have been bringing the non-fungible culture to F1 fans. During the partnership, Kraken has already helped create content and experiences to familiarize F1 fans with digital collectibles and Web3. Kraken has also showcased the original Bitcoin whitepaper on Williams cars as well as encouraged Williams’ teams to celebrate Bitcoin Pizza Day. The latest initiative is one more step forward in solidifying the partnership.
