On March 11th, the legendary web3 artist Mike Winkelmann aka Beeple opened the Beeple Studios timed to his most highly-paid Everydays: The first 5,000 days artwork anniversary. The studios opened its doors in Charleston, South Carolina, featuring the blue-chip pieces by the most influential NFT artists of the present, including FVCKRENDER, Refik Anadol, Pak, XCopy, Dee Kay Motion, Joshua Davis, and others. The place for the physical venue was not chosen in vain, as Winkelmann lives there with his family and creates his art.
Hundreds of attendees to the grand opening, composed of only those who have at least one Beeple's NFT in their portfolios, came to the venue that covers over 50,000 m2, with a 13,000 m2 exhibition gallery, as well as an experiential space and workspace for artists.
The whole extravaganza was immense in artsy initiatives, including actors' performances with dressing up like Mark Zuckerberg, Andy Warhol, and other renowned personalities. The icing on the cake of the opening event was Beeple's one-hour-long creative session, which resulted in giving birth to no less than 51 new art pieces.
Notably, Beeple Studios was officially founded back in 2021, just after the historic auction of the Everydays: The first 5,000 days NFT was finished at Christie's, having netted $69.3 million. Moreover, as it was with the creator's most valuable NFT work so far, the opening of Beeple Studios was running with the support of the auction house Christie's.
“This space was designed to be used by the Community. We wanted to build a space where we could plan and set up various possibilities for exhibitions for artists and experimental gathering events for the Community, Mike Winkelmann explained.
Thus, Beeple Studios is aimed at gathering the extensive web3 community under one roof for education, collaboration, and sharing their love for digital art. While the physical studio is not open to the public so far, tickets to the gallery are likely to appear on the studios' official website in the shortest possible time. Stay tuned for updates!
