Virtual Gear NFT Wearables by adidas Originals

The world-famous brand with three stripes is making waves in the realm again. This time bringing a new limited-edition collection of 16 NFT wearables dubbed Virtual Gear, having released on November 16th. 

Each of the 16 NFT pieces is an all-unique interoperable metaverse-ready adidas gear, which can be worn by web3 avatars in a variety of metaverse ecosystems. The series of impossible designs includes 8 silhouettes within 16 variations, while some rarities were even chosen by the brand’s community. One of the peculiarities of the collection is that it includes three limited-edition wearables, including Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), Gmoney, and Punks Comics. They come with iconic design and outstanding superpowers in the core, being the result of adidas' previous collaborations. 

Showcasing an evolution of adidas Originals’ house codes reimagined for the metaverse, the collection ties together past and future, virtual and physical, defining the brand’s culture through custom identity. The main idea behind the collection is to extend adidas Original's community-oriented metaverse strategy.

The authentic series is now available to holders of the adidas Originals: Capsule NFT Collection launched in May, as well as to non-owners. Each Capsule owner will have to burn their NFT to get one of 16 Virtual Gear interoperable items, which would reveal in the holder's wallet only after the burn. Non-owners can make a purchase directly via NFT marketplaces. The Virtual Gear capsule is currently available right through the OpenSea marketplace with a floor price starting from 0.09 ETH at the time of writing. 

According to adidas' Three Stripes Studio, each of the 16 wearables offers access to the viable utility and experience within Web3, unlocking a plethora of exclusive opportunities for holders. NFT owners of the items from the Virtual Gear series as well as partner collections like BAYC, MAYC, and Inhabitants will be offered to unlock an awesome new perk in a while. They will be provided with a special PFP Tool, which allows their original NFT to 'rock their new adidas virtual drip!'

The disruptive NFT collection itself fuses adidas' retro originality and unreal futuristic designs. Thus, each NFT represents one custom creative gear, which provides the avatar wearing it with superpowers as follows:

• BAYC – DMT hoodie is made of thynеetically-grown fur and is covered with blinking eyes. The superpowers include serotonin projection, mind control, and telekinesis.
• C2172 in three colors is an iconic 1972 item with tech from 2172. The superpowers include time manipulation and ultraviolet absorption.
• Neobone in pink and blue showcases a traditional football herringbone pattern that finds new life and purpose in VR. The superpowers include an electromagnetic force field, high-speed semiconductor, light-projected wave-surfing, and more.
• Personal Flotation Device (P.F.D.) coming in three colors is a three-stripe life vest of the metaverse. The superpowers include impulsive collision deflection, super strength, and more.
• Gmoney – GM Puffer is a luxury black puffer that provides its avatar with thermoregulation, auto-tune capabilities, and infinite swag superpowers.
• Space Crystal in two color schemes is a literal rock garment that veils a rare key, clouded in mystery. The superpowers include tissue regeneration, metamorphosis, gamma-ray mind control, and more.
• Wallrunner in red, blue, and green is crafted from adidas Originals’ iconic trefoil, which is cushy and comfy. The superpowers include bouncy collisions, force-proof, and clumsy-proof.
• Punks Comic – Courtney's Jacket is a one-of-one leather jacket reimagined for 2172, steeped in comic lore. The superpowers include degen immunity, mechanical manipulation, and hyper-kinetic sound blast.
