On the 30th of March, a UK-based artist and designer, Brendan Dawes is releasing The Opponents NFT drop on MakersPlace. For many years, Brendan Dawes has been creating interactive installations, electronic objects, online experiences, data visualizations, motion graphics, and imagery for screen and print. Using generative processes involving data, machine learning, and algorithms, he makes amazing artworks.
The upcoming drop has been inspired by The Wrestlers, a sculpture from ca. 300 BC now in the Uffizi collection. “The Opponents” are AI-born generative sculptures formed from analyzing footage of the 1994 arcade fighting game Tekken.
“If wrestlers were used in ancient Roman times as muses for art, then why not the pixel-born subjects of a video game?” – asks Brendan describing his NFT drop.
The details of the drop: there will be one auction 1/1, an edition of ten and two open editions.
