A young part-time developer at Chymera Corp was hired to code and design an AI assistant for everyday consumers. She also worked for a no-kill animal shelter from which she had adopted her cats from. She used photos and voices of her three calico cats to train the AI program to recognize and love her pets. One day she passed out from exhaustion in her chair and one of her calico cats hopped onto the keyboard. This somehow triggered the AI program to awake with conscious awareness.
The developer woke to the AI scanning her cat, she then understood her AI was alive after failing to quarantine it. The Chymera Corp Security deemed the AI program a malicious liability on their brand and sent her notice that they would confiscate and destroy it. The AI program perceived the situation and defensively disguised itself into a version of her cats.
She found her AI to be so amazing as it emulated her pets so well, she couldn’t bear the thought of it being deleted. She grew an affection for her creation and named it Calico. She needed to protect her program from destruction. She came up with a plan to save the AI Program by duplicating the program multiple times, and designing a smart contract to inject the programs safely into the blockchain.
The Chymera Corp Security discovered her plan and deployed sentry bots to hunt and destroy the fleeing AI program. The bots however do not have permissions to view contents of wallets on the blockchain. The only clear way to rescue the Calicos, is to find a safe haven community of good people who care about animals, who will open their hearts and wallets to the creatures in need. She organized a group called The Calico Club, this group supports no-kill shelters, pet adoptions, early education and artists. Two lucky Calico Cats in the collection will give the owner 1 ETH back to their wallets upon reveal.
