Foreseeing St. Valentine's Day, the web3 culture studio and renowned fashion label, Probably Nothing, has joined efforts with authentic Mexican soda brand, Jarritos, to launch an exclusive phygital offering via OpenSea. Thus, it will be a festive collection of NFTs dubbed 'fourteen-twenty-three', timed to the holiday.
The ultra-limited-edition series will consist of only 14 digital collectibles inspired by the rich cultural legacy of Mexico. The tokens featuring skulls, hearts, alebrijes (folk art creatures), and other Mexican classic attributes have been processed under the guidance of Probably Nothing's creative director, Jeremy Fall, and the creative team of Jarritos.
The series comes with a retrospective touch, combining the old and the cutting-edge, physical and digital, mystical and realistic in the vibes of Valentine's holiday.
In addition to aesthetic pleasure, holders of the 'fourteen twenty-three' collectibles will be able to redeem their NFTs for the branded merch, created by the two brands specifically for this drop. Those items include a jacket, an alebrije toy, and a physical print of the corresponding NFT.
To grab the physical items, holders will have to burn two, seven, or ten tokens, starting February 17th during a two-day window. The number of tokens will determine the physical collectible, with two for a print, seven for a toy, and ten for a Jarritos x Probably Nothing jacket, respectively.
Speaking on the collab, Jeremy Fall recalled his childhood in LA, when he was astonished by the authenticity of Jarritos beverages and how the brand was tied to the culture. Offering a modern view of Valentine’s Day candies, the upcoming series brings a fun take on the holiday in the Mexican style. According to Fall, this joint NFT series is going to be exciting and meaningful.
