Etihad Airways Limited-Edition NFTs

The Middle East companies, especially those originating from the UAE, have been recently at the forefront of web3 and NFT adoption. Another major airline from Abu Dhabi, Etihad Airways, is one of the latest companies to pilot its business toward NFTs.

Thus, Etihad Airways has announced the EY-ZERO1 limited-edition 2,003-piece non-fungible collection. The company’s initial NFT drop features the top-tier 3D visuals of ten Etihad Boeing 787 Dreamliner livery models, priced at $349 on the green Polygon blockchain. The number of collectibles was chosen not in vain, but to celebrate the year of the company's foundation in 2003. 

The ten livery models are split over four key series as follows:

• 101 Manchester City FC Boeing 787-9 airline NFTs were created to pay a nod to the football club's great achievements both on and off the pitch.
• 101 ADGP Boeing 787-9 aircraft tokens commemorate the final race of the season at the Yas Marina Circuit, all captured by Etihad’s ADGP livery.
• Greenliner Boeing 787-10 series featuring 100 pieces demonstrates both Etihad and Boeing’s low-emission technologies in aviation.
• 7 x 243 Choose Well Series, Boeing 787-9, features seven different designs, celebrating Etihad’s diverse global customers and their travel choices.

Of course, the EY-ZERO1 NFTs will provide great utility to their minters. Firstly, each NFT immediately unlocks Etihad Guest Silver status. This means exclusive lounge access, priority check-in, and other perks for every holder.

While the drop is scheduled for July 18th, some NFT holders, who will be randomly chosen on July 27th, will be awarded free tickets to fly from anywhere in the world to Abu Dhabi using Etihad Airways.

While Etihad Airways have promised to reach net zero emissions by 2050, all the proceeds from the NFT sales will go to buy sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
