ELLE Décoration France has recently joined efforts with the crypto art platform SuperRare to exhibit and auction off 15 vibrant NFT collections by award-winning architects and web designers. With this NFT series, dubbed D3sign Capsule, the iconic magazine aims to merge the IRL world of architecture and design with the web3 realm, alongside celebrating its 35th anniversary.
While architects and interior designers have been recently going digital, depriving their works of real-life constraints, ELLE Décoration decided to bring together the young generation with the mastodons of the profession. That was how 16 globally-renowned designers, decorators, and architects, including Laura Gonzalez, Tom Dixon, Constance Guisset, Gilles & Boissier, and others, formed pairs with digital creative minds like Charlotte Taylor, Krista Kim, Alba de la Fuente, Benjamin Guedj, and Magnane Studio, to name a few.
As a result of unmatched partnerships, 15 NFT collections were brought to life to explore the future of interior decoration. Currently, you can observe them IRL as part of the Paris Design Week, which is running from September 10th up to September 18th. The exhibition is taking place on the beautiful grounds of the Hôtel de Soubise (Archives Nationales), located in the Marais district. On top of that, some creative pairs have gone further, having processed physical copies of their digital artworks. The beautiful pieces of modern art will be exhibited alongside the digital works to be later put up for auction as NFTs.
The long-term collaboration will result in more exclusive launches: the second phase of D3sign Capsule is scheduled for October, while its exhibition and public sale are planned to go live in spring 2023.
