While major brands keep joining the NFT realm dropping their multi-million collections, the non-fungible initiatives once again prove to be a good field for charitable initiatives. One of the best examples is the Cool Crypto Kids NFT project aimed to raise funds for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), one of the leading pediatric healthcare facilities in the United States during the Make March Matter Campaign.
The Cool Crypto Kids is a brainchild of the CHLA community, including 1:1 hand-drawn pictures by the current and former small patients and the LA-based Kinestry studio. The sales from the auction, which is starting on Rarible on March 31st, are focused on helping families going through costly medical treatment, as well as supporting the CHLA pediatric research.
“When my mom passed away from cancer in 2017, our medical bills exceeded more than $750,000 for just three weeks in the hospital,” Jay Velasco, Co-Founder of CCK shared. “Our team believes that NFTs and Web3 are fundraising avenues that can create equitable access to medical treatments and democratize research, which can truly make a difference for lower-income and vulnerable families.”
Cool Crypto Kids is also working on its second NFT drop, aiming to draw as many as possible top-ranking musicians, artists, and influencers, who are not indifferent to CHLA and kids going through treatment there.
