DJ Premier is an American record producer and DJ whose aliases include Preemo and Christopher Edward Martin, his official government name. He is famous for being part of Gang Starr, a hip hop duo in which he was together with rapper Guru. Currently, the DJ forms part of the hip hop duo named “PRhyme” with his counterpart, Royce da 5'9". All tracks by the first band he was associated with bear his mark and included famous musicians likeSnoop Dogg, Xzibit, The Lady of Rage, Janet Jackson, Jay-Z, and many more. The DJ is gifted with business knowledge which saw him launch his record label, “Year Round Records”.
DJ Premier’s first drop on the NFT space is a collaborative collection with Animus, titled, “Golden Era Future”. It comprises 9 unreleased beats by DJ Premier and visuals by his partner, Animus. It launched on the Nifty Gateway platform on 28 Apr 2021, with more from the duo set to come in the coming years.
