French game developer Ubisoft has long started adjusting to the web3 realia. One of the important milestones on its way became a partnership with the metaverse company The Sandbox to bring its notable game franchises into the Ethereum-based game world.
All of us remember those goofy, rabbit-like aliens, Rabbids by Ubisoft. Thus, the company is going to launch a blocky, voxelized version of Rabbids as well as other characters that users can utilize within the game's VoxEdit and Game Maker tools. It will be a unique interactive zone, Ubisoft Land within The Sandbox, where users can socialize while playing with funny game characters.
Both The Sandbox and Ubisoft companies are in the active phase of their development. For example, The Sandbox has recently partnered with Warner Music to make a music-themed world in the metaverse. The partnership with Ubisoft, in its turn, allows bringing game IP elements into their metaverse terrains.
Sebastien Borget, COO and co-founder of The Sandbox, announced: “We welcome Ubisoft into the open metaverse as we work together to create new possibilities for players, fans, and creators with blockchain and Web3.”
“We're excited to bring the Rabbids to The Sandbox community and to empower players to create their own original experiences incorporating elements of our gaming IP. We can't wait to see how they make the Rabbids' world their own. The Sandbox is an obvious new fun playground addition to the long list of Rabbids world invasions, and a great opportunity for Ubisoft to experiment a metaverse experience for its brands,” Guillaume Mammi, Ubisoft's senior manager of new business and partnerships, explained.
Would you participate in the blocked Rabbids invasion into the metaverse? Soon, you are likely to have such an opportunity.
