The Sandbox and Playboy to Launch the MetaMansion

On July 11th, one of the world's largest metaverse spaces, The Sandbox, entered a new big deal, bringing the Playboy lifestyle edition to VR spaces.

Thus, The Sandbox is about to take the impressive Playboy community to the metaverse with the MetaMansion launch. The endeavor promises a bunch of Playboy-themed gaming experiences based on the huge collection of content gathered throughout almost 70 years of the brand's existence.

With this partnership, Playboy hopes to leverage the immersive gaming, social play, programmed events, and upcoming NFT collectible releases to The Sandbox metaverse lands.

Playboy's MetaMansion won't become the lifestyle edition's first web3 initiative. As you may know, the brand launched its inaugural Liquid Summer NFT collection back in the Spring of 2021, which flew off the shelves in seconds. The second NFT collectibles, dubbed Playboy Rabbitars, consisted of 11,953 tokenized bunny avatars sold for around $800 in October 2021. Currently, the company's planning to reward the latter by offering the NFT owners exclusive holder-only experiences at the virtual mansion. For now, neither the specific of the upcoming Rabbitar experiences within the MetaMansion, nor the project's launch date haven't been announced so far.

We’re thrilled to work with The Sandbox and its best-in-class design and development team to build a premium, customized Playboy gaming and social experience in the metaverse,” Rachel Webber, Playboy’s Chief Brand & Strategy Officer commented on the initiative.

Sebastien Borget, COO and Co-Founder of The Sandbox, followed Webber's thought, adding: “Playboy is emblematic for its charm, lifestyle, and entertainment content that has transcended generations and that has already stepped into Web3 with early success.”

The Sandbox also announced that the gamers would be able to purchase land pieces surrounding the MetaMansion down the road. That will definitely raise the hype and zeroes in prices per plot in The Sandbox metaverse.
