With about two decades at the forefront of DJ culture, the Beatport platform is now entering web3 in partnership with the next-gen blockchain Polkadot. As a result of the collaboration a new marketplace for digital electronic music assets dubbed Beatport.io came into existence.
Founded in 2004, The Beatport Group united global DJs, producers, and a huge electronic music fanbase, providing them with a tried-and-true sales platform and out-of-the-box tools for products and label management. For instance, Beatsource comes as an open-source hub for electronic music makers, while Beatport's LabelRadar helps streamline demo tracks to foster label management and promotion.
Beatport will operate on Aventus, which is a trusted provider of web3 solutions for enterprises driven by the Polkadot network. The new platform will bolster connections between record labels, artists, and their fans, offering a blockchain-fair opportunity to explore the value of digital collectibles. The music NFTs will allow DJs a new source of capitalization and connection with their fans, while the latter will be pampered with multiple perks, such as bonus tracks, free and discounted tickets, VIP passes to events, virtual experiences, and far beyond.

As part of the cooperation, Beatport and Polkadot will also work on 10 major events, celebrating the launches of the corresponding number of NFT collections over the next 18 months. The NFTs in those series will be operated through Polkadot-integrated wallets.
