Barbara Redekop creates art with the goal of making dark days a little brighter. Born in a cold, secluded part of Siberia, where she claims coal mines are more common than art galleries and “the snow is only white until it settles on the ground,” Redekop grew up yearning to connect with the wider world through her work — developing a signature colorful, cartoonish style and a bright, cheerful outlook to juxtapose her self-described “depressive” surroundings. After working in a variety of traditional media, she eventually began using digital tools and entered the NFT space.
