I’ve always been fascinated by patterns, numbers and the way simple rules can create things that feel completely different.
NotAnArtist is basically me exploring that idea.
The collection is made with a system where each piece comes from a different set of parameters. I don’t draw the final result or decide exactly what each piece will look like. I build the rules, run them, and see what comes out.
That’s really the backbone of generative art. We build systems that create art.
It’s not that different from engineering or technology. Engineers build things without always knowing exactly what the final outcome will be. They build the system, set the rules, and sometimes the result is more interesting than they imagined.
I wanted to explore that idea here.
The gears represent the engineering, rules and work behind the system. The art layer represents the output what happens when the system is allowed to run.
456 pieces.
One system.
456 different results.
