Monuments is a collection of 100 unique compositions, created around the concept of monuments as reminders of the past that helps us envision the future. From the Latin moneo, “to remind”, these monuments are reminiscent of pyramids, arcs, towers, obelisks. They remind us of the predictions of Julio Verne, the works of Kasimir Malevich, the infinite libraries of Jorge Luis Borges. These monuments are the result of playful memories from my childhood expeditions, hand-in-hand with my grandfather, through the streets of Buenos Aires.
The structures are architectural in nature, historical in spirit, bearers of artistic, religious, cultural, and social value, and were created without any constraints or logic, without any reference to provide scale. Are they gigantic pyramids or tiny paperweights? Do they have stairs going nowhere? Forms without function? I invite you to walk through these magic spaces that will amuse you, free your fantasy, and spark your imagination!
