”Eye Collection” 2020.
Beautiful, peculiar, colorful and unusual “Eye Collection”, painted by Diana Titova in April and May of 2020, during the lockdown due to the Covid-19 takes its beginning from a Circle and the art of Mandalas and Yantras. The circle a generalized symbol of the Universe. The concentric circles is a common representation of the cosmic worlds contained within the sphere of existence and the successive levels of spiritual knowledge where the CENTER is the symbol of perfection. And what is more perfectly elaborated by the nature than an EYE? with all those different shapes, colors, qualities, outstanding beauty and even super abilities. Doesn’t matter if it ́s a human or an animal eye, each one of them serves to its unique purpose providing to its owner the major part of information coming and perceived from within.
The center of Mandala or Yantra is called “Bindu” - point. The idea that inspires these images is that the eye (the window to the soul) is not only an organ for collecting and perceiving the information from the outer world, but also the most trustworthy and authentic source of information about its owner, the direct way to a deeper and more reliable communication, understanding and appreciation. The thread, which starts from the eye goes on unrolling and ends up in a different sort of a TAIL (different for each painting, each animal), trying to insinuate to an animal it represents.
