This is a limited collection of biological art derived from human blood vessels specifically from the retina of the eye. The color was programmatically generated based on the size of the blood vessel. Three basic color schemes are used in Biology Fractals namely red-blue, light blue-yellow, and turquoise-pink. Symmetrical fusion of the vascular tree adds another level of intricacy and beauty. The structures of the retinal vasculature are classified according to their complexity, calculated using the box-counting Fractal Dimension (FD) technique. Blood vessel networks with high FD values generally indicate a positive association with general well-being.
This is where generative art meets biology.
Geek features: Biology-inspired art, hand-drawn blood vessels, programmatic coloring, fractal dimension as the property (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fractal_dimension).
