Kensley Lu is an American songwriter-singer, polymuse, and cellist with classical training born in Charlotte, North Carolina, and currently based in London. She draws her inspiration from her parents. Kensley started her journey at the age of 6 years while studying classical composition and learning piano, cello, and violin. She is an alumnus of the University of North California School of the Arts. Kensley rose to fame in 2016 when she released her debut album, Church. Her musical work straddles the lines between visual art, politics, performing art, and songs. She has worked with various artists such as Skrillex, Lady Gaga, Sampha, and Florence the Machine, Solange Knowles. She is known for her albums:
