Diplo, officially known as Thomas Wesley Pentz, is an American DJ, rapper, musician, record producer, and songwriter based in Los Angeles. He is the founder of Mad Decent record label, co-founder of Heaps Decent, a non-profit organization. Diplo is well-known for contributing as a member of Major Lazer, LSD, Jack Ü, and Silk City. In 2003, he collaborated with DJ Low Budget to throw parties under the Hollertronix moniker and release the Never Scared mixtape. His passion for music dates back to his childhood when they moved from Tupelo, Mississippi, to Miami.
Diplo has released several solo albums such as Florida and EP Revolution and featured in Hyundai and WWE 2K16. He has also worked with M.I.A, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Usher, Shakira, Beyonce, Die Antwoord, Gwen Stefani, Snoop Dogg, Poppy, Madonna, Bad Bunny, and G-Dragon, among others.
Diplo is among the first musicians to join the NFT trend by releasing an NFT collaboration title Cloud10 with FriendsWithYou on Nifty Gateway. It features the music duo Samuel Borkson and Arturo Sandoval II. It is a 10 part series with smiling clouds, rainbows, and stars moving to Diplo’s tune.
