The UK-based luxury automotive brand McLaren is exploring the promising metaverse terrains. As part of the carmaker's digital expansion, the new NFT marketplace is going to be created by McLaren in partnership with the metaverse infrastructure provider InfiniteWorld. Thus, the new McLaren Automotive marketplace will be used to mint and trade its high-end supercar NFTs, alongside allowing its clients to the never-before-seen digital experiences.
McLaren NFT platform will be operating on Tezos and is set to launch in June. In addition to producing chic limited-edition supercars, McLaren is known for its Formula 1 racing team with millions of fans worldwide. The upcoming NFT marketplace will provide all the brand's fandom with a unique collecting experience, paired with community-only perks in the future.
As for the brand's partner, InfiniteWorld specializes in digital transformation, helping companies to create and monetize their digital assets, alongside offering a whole bunch of benefits to the brand's clients.
In late December, InfiniteWorld announced that it was planning an IPO through a $700 million merger with Aries I Acquisition Corp., a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC). After the merger, the newly-formed company will put its assets on Nasdaq under the symbol "JPG."
