According to Jane from Chonk Society, they plan to Donate 20% of all Mint costs to Benefit Pet Rescues

Jane is the Founder/Artist/Frontend Dev. She does front-end development as her full time job while drawing is one of her beloved hobbies. We talked to Jane about her project, namely, Chonk Society

Chris from NFT Calendar:  Chonks are lovable! You launched the presale, how is the response?

Jane: Our public sale is currently ongoing. We are minting gradually and putting out new events to incentivize new people to mint.

Chris from NFT Calendar: Is it true that 20% of the minting fees are dedicated to cat rescue organizations? Please tell us more about the charitable work done by ChonkSociety!

Jane: Yes! We plan to donate 20% of all mint costs to benefit pet rescues. Over Thanksgiving, we organized an event where 100% of mint costs were donated to 3 organizations: Feline Friends Chicago, Blue Bell Foundation for Cats, and The Pixie Project. We were able to donate over $2,000 to each of them.

Chris from NFT Calendar: There are going to be 1500 Chonk NFTs out of which 1111 will be available for minting? What’s the secret with the remaining Chonks? Are they going to be offered as rewards?

Jane: Yes! Via our roadmap:

25% - 11 Chonks will be up for grabs in a variety of holder and community events.

50% - An army of 111 Chonks will be dropped to holders!

75% - Another 11 Chonks will be given away on Discord.

100% - Another army of 111 Chonks will be airdropped to holder

Chris from NFT Calendar: When can we expect the first airdrop? How do we keep updated on the latest news about the chonks?

Jane: The first event airdrop will be going out this week from our Chonksgiving event. This rewards our early supporters! Different pieces will be sent out depending on if you held 1, 5, or 10 Chonks at the end of the event.

Chris from NFT Calendar: You have already made your very first big donation to organizations based in the USA. Do you also plan to expand geographically in donations to cat rescue organizations?

Jane: Absolutely! Our donations are not restricted by country or by pet species. We support all animals and plan to donate internationally as well.

Chris from NFT Calendar: It's an all-women team on board. This is unique! How did all of you come together and make it possible?

Jane: Our team is women-led but not fully women! Loods is my right-hand woman, and is in charge of communications. The team started as a group of friends in real life who wanted to use the NFT space as a platform to drive charitable change. We're all passionate about animals and figured we could create a project that focuses on pet rescue.

Chris from NFT Calendar: Recently, there was a Doggo Chonk in wallets. Does that mean that you also plan to support dog rescue operations in the near future?

Jane: We support rescue organizations for all species! Our recent donation included The Pixie Project, which is a rescue for both cats and dogs.

Chris from NFT Calendar: Finally, what is the future plan of action once all the Chonks are sold out?

Jane:
We are ahead of schedule, and currently have a Chonk plushie in the works. Once we sell out, we plan to collaborate with cat cafes where our community can hang out with real life Chonks and help out cats at the same time. We also have plans of a larger project where Chonk holders will receive a free mint for every Chonk they own!
