Eventually, humans settled into two factions: The Chesires, and the Wokkies. Over time Earth’s surface became safe, though there are lethal areas still, and some with deadly wildlife spawned from rapid evolution.
Another side effect: The mutation of toxoplasmosis - a feline-transmitted parasite causing recklessness (and in this world, the desire to explore), and now they need for the affected to take great care of cats. The affected found they could telepathically communicate with new intelligent cat breeds with near-supernatural abilities, the Kitties.
In KittieWorld, you will take part in adventures with the scientific and industrial Cheshires, or the primal and physically durable Wokkies. Both groups have tradeoffs, with the Wokkies rejecting certain tech that would help them thrive, and the Cheshires’s adherence to their frameworks leading to limited realizations of certain wonders.
