With over 20 years behind the wheel, the former NASCAR, INDYCAR, and USAC champion Tony Stewart aka Smoke, is now bringing his legacy to the digital world in partnership with a premium NFT and web3 company Orange Comet. Being far from a techno nut, Tony came to web3 thanks to his wife Leah Pruett, a drag racing driver for NHRA and an avid NFT groupie.
“Actually, my wife Leah, she’s pretty tech-savvy. I am the least tech-savvy person probably on the face of the planet,” Stewart commented on his first-ever NFT drop.
Thus, the brand-new initiative will be offering fans exclusive experiences and rewards, alongside telling the story of Tony Stewart, his wife, and Tony Stewart Racing's victories in a never-before-seen way. Composed of multiple top-tier animations, PFPs, and other types of digital artworks, the collectibles will feature different cars the motorsport champ has been driving during his career.
There will be two various series of NFTs available. The first one, dubbed The Champions Series, will feature only six iconic animations of Smoke's cars with only five editions each, at $5,000 apiece. All NFT holders will benefit from grabbing a physical firesuit signed by the motorsports champion himself. On top of that, if the 30 NFTs are sold out, one of the Champion Series NFT owners will be randomly chosen to receive a die-cast model from Stewart-Haas Racing: the #14 Championship Cup car.
The second part, titled The Legacy Series, will compile 500 NFTs in total, priced at $250 each. The outstanding tokens will all highlight some cars Stewart has driven, alongside featuring a set of new car paint schemes. Every fifth The Legacy NFT holder will have a chance to win a 30-minute virtual hangout with Stewart. The owners of more than one will go home with an autographed hat by the racer.
This drop will be only the first one in the series of collections to be launched later this year. To participate in the sale, you will need to go to Tony Stewart's NFT website and OpenSea marketplace on August 23rd and mint your NFT using Ethereum.
