The NBA legend Michael Jordan has been teasing the launch of his Solana-based NFT platform called HEIR since last year. One of the Chicago Bulls' most prominent athletes of all times has created the marketplace together with his son Jeffrey to bring fans closer to their professional sports favs.
Now the HEIR marketplace is launched alongside an exclusive NFT collection, dubbed 6 Rings. Michael Jordan's NFTs were inspired by the basketballer's championship rings with the Chicago Bulls.
The 6 Rings collection features 3D bulls heads in black, white, red, gold, and silver with 6 six rings on horns. NFTs in the total amount of 5,005 were primarily minted at 2.3 SOL each. By the way, the price was chosen not in vain, as it symbolized Jordan's famous jersey number.
Each Rings’ holder will benefit from exclusive perks. Thus, all owners of Michael Jordan's NFTs become founding fans, who will be allowed to limited-access communities and cool merch. While the rarity tool is still in development, the NFT rarities will be announced in the near future.
The family-based platform is in the stage of active development. “We’ll be exploring many ways to thoughtfully bring fans into the community, while always ensuring we are honoring our founding fans in a unique way,” Jeffrie Jordan commented on his and his father's brainchild.
