Hello, I am an artist within DC.
In the spring of 2004, Washington DC announced Pandamania. It was a public art project sponsored by the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities that brought 150 decorated panda bear statues to the Nation's Capital -- some standing, some seated, and all painted in a variety of designs -- to the public and private spaces.
I got the idea to use the pandas in an NFT project when walking down my street, I noticed a DC panda statue in a Maryland neighbors yard. I found out the pandas were eventually auctioned off to raise money for arts programs. Some Pandas still exist around DC at restaurants or hotels, but will forever live on the blockchain. This collection consists of some of my favorites. Enjoy
