"Shipka Monument: The Stone Cry of Freedom"
I’ve sketched Bulgaria’s Shipka Monument, rising in the Balkan Mountains, with charcoal pencil. This monument immortalizes the heroism of Bulgarian volunteers and Russian soldiers defending Shipka Pass during the 1877-78 Russo-Turkish War. My artwork captures the legendary moment when, with ammunition exhausted, the defenders hurled stones and rocks at the advancing Ottoman forces. This drawing carries the silent cry of their fight for freedom.
