The UK-based luxury department store Selfridges is here to claim itself as the world's first department store to sell NFTs over the counter. Introducing you to a tremendous NFT collection that is part of Universe: an exclusive triple collab between Selfridges, Fondation Vasarely, and Paco Rabanne. To make you truly believe in its greatness, let us emphasize that Fondation Vasarely is the first France-originated cultural institution engaged in NFTs. Thus, Paco Rabanne and Fondation Vasarely have been collaborating in the NFT space since January to deliver these gorgeous NFTs to the public.
So, the Universe collection includes 12 Victor Vasarely NFT artworks and 12 Paco Rabanne “Unwearables”. It will drop via universenft.live, with prices starting from 0.2 WETH. Purchases can be made directly with Moon Pay, allowing users to acquire NFTs with their credit or debit card.
The 12 Paco Rabanne's unwearable dresses were presented in 1966, performed in the most contemporary materials. Today, almost 70 years after, these out-of-this-world iconic outfits unite the past, present, and future in the artsiest way.
Six of the NFTs in this collection are digital designs of original artworks that urgently need repair. Thus, the other portion of the money raised will be used to restore those "damaged" artworks. The physical art pieces will be tokenized and programmed with a smart contract. While refreshing the metadata, the process of the masterpieces' renovation will be displayed on NFTs. For now, the renovation process is believed to take a two-year period.

This NFT experience will bring a new dimension to Victor Vasarely’s works, positioning him once again as a visionary,” Pierre Vasarely, President of the Vasarely Foundation, commented on the drop.
The collaborative NFTs take up a charitable initiative with most proceeds going to Fondation Vasarely, a museum in Aix en Provence, France dedicated to the artist.
