"Get Your Masks" - Playing with Fire (Part 1/6)
Does fire transform or destroy? Welcome to "Playing With Fire," the first of six phases of my first NFT series. In working with symbols of the modern era, I want to challenge the present culture's visual language.
Fire is a powerful agent of change and in using it as an agent to transform modern-day symbols, I hope to challenge how we contextualize the material world around us.
In this first part, I set masks on fire to express my personal frustration, but also the way in which I am looking forward to "walking through the fire" and putting this chapter of my life behind me. It has not been an easy time for me (I'm sure this is the only statement we can all agree upon), and lighting these little things on fire gave me a good laugh while releasing some of the tension that had built up because of them.
