On February 20th, the legendary grunge founder, musician, songwriter, and artist Kurt Cobain would have turned 55. To pay tribute to the icon's contribution to American music, the grunge movements, as well as support non-profit initiatives, photographer Faith West and the NFT marketplace Pop Legendz are launching the never-before-seen collection of 28 non-fungible images of Nirvana’s live performance.

The shots were taken during the band's Nevermind supporting tour at the J.C. Dobbs venue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, only 6 days after the cult album had been released. Photographer Faith West was among the enchanted public when she snapped the live photos.

That's how the woman recalls that day of Oct. 1, 1991: “At the club that night, the air was thick with anticipation. There was a buzz of excitement that said something awesome was about to transpire. Also, there was a sense of joy emanating from Cobain in his raucous guitar licks and the transcendent longing of his vocals…I can still hear the echo of the fuzzy guitar, and feel the energy in the room, when I recall it now, three decades later.”

The collection of memorable NFTs will be split into several parts and have different levels of value. Thus, there will be 4 exclusive tokens made from 10 images to be auctioned off with the bids starting from 67 Ethereum. The auction winners will also benefit from getting a physical print of one photo in a frame with the photographer's signature. These 10 pictures will be also auctioned off as separate NFT lots in black and white and acid color versions.

Besides, there will be a special Nirvana Fan Club that will be featuring the sale of 150 NFTs for fans, including 10 GIFs compiled of four pictures priced at $499 each. The second part of NFTs for fans will comprise 150 copies of each of 17 still images priced at $99 each, in both black and white and acid colors.

The profits from the NFT sale will be shared between the Trevor Project, an NGO that helps prevent suicides in the LGBTQIA+ youth, and Grid Alternative, an organization that works to bring renewable energy solutions to the masses.

Own a piece of Nirvana history upon participating in the 1:1 auction or by minting your fan tokens, featuring one of the greatest bands ever! Both the sale and the auction start on February 20, 2:20 pm EST. Mark your calendars!
