Have you seen the Kepler Dudes?

Far far away, tucked in a distant corner of the milky way, lay a magnificent, life-bearing planet, Kepler-442b. This planet was home to a native population of Keplerians who lived in peace and unity for millenniums. Kepler was a type II stellar civilisation and could harness the energy from its star through advanced technology known as the Keplar Dyson Sphere. The working class, nicknamed Keplar Dudes, were responsible for energy production on the planet and had full responsibility for the sphere after its initial construction.

One fateful day, a unit of Kepler Dudes were patrolling Keplar's star and were performing maintenance service on a section of solar collectors on a critical area of the sphere. Unfortunately, correct procedures were not followed during the maintenance. The unit caused a significant system power overload to the panel, which caused a catastrophic chain reaction, leaving the entire Keplar dome entirely offline.

Knowing that the planet would soon not have the ability to sustain life, the Keplerians knew that their only hope would be to send the Kepler Dudes on an intergalactic mission to find a suitable life-bearing planet for habitation. The Keplar society divided the Kepler Dudes into groups of 2,000 and set them out into the galaxy, only to return when their missions were successful. The rest of the Keplerian society went into long term cryogenic sleep with the planet having enough energy stored to last 1,000 years.

After flying through the galaxy for many years - inspecting the planets without any luck - running low on resources and fuel, the Kepler Dudes came across a blue and green planet known as Earth. Fearing that they would not make it any further, they decided to begin the descent into the Earth's atmosphere. At once, the spacecraft carrying the Kepler Dudes began to overheat, and they realised they had no choice but to abort the landing. They ejected from the spacecraft individually, and the Kepler Dudes were split up and scattered across Earth.

Some Kepler Dudes had a harsh reaction to the pollution upon landing on Earth, and their skin began to mutate. Quickly, the Kepler Dudes recognised humans' sentiments on alien life and started to adopt disguises to remain safe...
