In 2016, the Hubble Space Telescope pointed towards the constellation Ursa Major, capturing the image of a distant galaxy.
Gnz11, the most distant galaxy ever observed, is so far away that it is near the edge of the universe, when we look at it we only see the light it emitted 13.4 billion years ago.
The universe is 13.8 billion years old, GNZ11 formed 400 million years after the big bang, and even if you look further, you won't see any stars or galaxies, just very, very hot gas.
