Gigatura is set in a dystopian country called Mirage. Houseflies in Mirage have pixelmon Kevin heads and every piece of fruit is genetically engineered with its own barcode skin. Best of all, the concept of Open Editions is everywhere.
After a series of catastrophes including a deadly pandemic, drought and the loss of 40% of human jobs to artificial intelligence, one mega corporation named Gigacorp seizes control of the government in Mirage. Gigacorp is able to successfully seize power because the majority of people in Mirage were suffering from starvation and poverty. Gigacorp gains power over the people of Mirage by promising greater prosperity and health through Work For Food (WFF) programs.
Gigacorp owns 5 main subsidiaries: BrainLink SeedLife Artmachine WcDoh AquaLife BrainLink is the R&D arm of artificial intelligence systems. Artmachine is a subscription- based ai art product. SeedLife is both a GMO seed bank and artificial meat lab. WcDoh is a global fast-food chain that creates convenience food from its SeedLife products. AquaLife is its subsidiary that controls all the clean water underground aquifers in Mirage.
Mirage is transformed from a democracy into a Dark Enlightenment hellscape in just a few years. But it’s not until Gigacorp publicly executes Tura’s mother, a well-known handmade artist, that the war really begins. Over the next 5 years, Tura’s sole mission in life becomes dismantling Gigacorp and freeing the people of Mirage.
Will she succeed or will she die in a Gigacorp prison?
