There are very few artists as iconic in the history of pop art as Andy Warhol. The American visual artist who lived for a greater part of the 20th century is renowned for his bright and colorful art style. His world-famous paintings, featuring celebrities like Marilyn Monroe and Mohammed Ali, as well as Campbell's Soup Cans and Brillo Boxes, make Andy a legendary representative of contemporary art.

More than three decades after Warhol's demise, blockchain-based fine art investment platform Freeport is bringing his historical artwork to collectors of the new age. An exclusive four-piece collection of tokenized Warhal’s prints will be available on Freeport this spring.

The Andy Warhol NFT series will feature prints of his popular creations, including – "Marilyn" (1967), "Double Mickey" (1981), "Mick Jagger" (1975), and "Rebel Without a Cause (James Dean)" (1985). Freeport has acquired partial ownership of these items from reputable collectors and will tokenize them via Vertalo to make the pieces available on DeFi platforms. Freeport will release a maximum of 1000 lots, priced from $250 to $860 for each item, providing priority access to waitlist subscribers.

Freeport expects to launch in April with the iconic Andy Warhol collection expected to go live the following month. The fine art platform has also obtained a registration with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to offer retail investors access to exclusive fine art like Warhol's, with a rich provenance history.

A majority of Andy Warhol's artwork are highly-prized and coveted items for traditional collectors. Debuting in the digital art world represents a new chapter for iconic pieces and one to keep an eye on as the release date approaches!
