The collection presents 1,000 digital reinterpretations of Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece through a visual language inspired by Fauvism and the chromatic freedom associated with Henri Matisse. In place of the restrained tones of the Renaissance painting there appear intense combinations of blue, red, green, yellow, violet, pink and orange, along with new garments,
backgrounds, shapes and atmospheres. Each image keeps the immediately recognizable reference to the Mona Lisa while presenting a visual identity of its own. This is not one painting reproduced a thousand times; it is a thousand different readings of the same cultural icon.
