"Lombardi was much more than the legendary coach who led the Green Bay Packers to victories in the first two Super Bowls, demonstrating leadership qualities which prompted the NFL to name the championship trophy in his honor," according to Ed Kull, Director of Athletics at Fordham University.
"Lombardi was a man who treasured his Roman Catholic faith, his family, and football, starting with his early years as a player at Fordham University, followed by twenty years as a high school coach before returning to Fordham University as an assistant coach."
